DEGREES

Ph.D, Computer Science (Telematica e società dell’informazione), 2006.
University of Florence, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
Thesis: “The STORYOBJECT approach, merging software engineering and user-centred design in designing interactive system”. The thesis demonstrates the possible integration of User-Centred design and Software Engineering perspectives in the design and the development of Interactive Systems in order to effectively support human activity.
Supervisors: Prof. Antonio Rizzo and Dr. Maria Chiara Pettenati.
Laurea (equivalent to Masters Degree), Communication Sciences, 2001. Major field: Human-Computer Interaction. (summa cum laude, mark 110/110). Thesis: “The Architect Has Made the Map: How the Information Deforms the Space.” The thesis investigates the issue of designing geographic representations for supporting orientation and wayfinding by merging the affordances of traditional maps and real environments for learning spatial relations. As results of the theoretical investigation the emerging views have been exemplified in the design of an information system for a National Park in Italy (Saul project). Supervisors: Prof. Antonio Rizzo and Prof. Giuliano Benelli
Diploma di Maturità (Secondary School diploma) in Language Studies, 1995.
